Baby Ruth MHF (Brentwood
Command X Merriehill Ruthless Ruth) Nicole
Peterson and “Baby” have formed a bond that
cannot be broken. On December 25th, 1999, “Baby”
was Nicole’s Christmas present. This is what
makes them such a formidable Team Merriehill. In
their third year competing in the World Amateur
and Ladies Amateur divisions they did their best
to date. Early in the week they competed in the
huge Grand National Amateur Hunter Pleasure
Mares and placed 7th. The very next day they
again competed in a very large Grand National
Ladies Amateur Hunter Pleasure Mares and came
away 4th.
Wednesday night was the
Amateur Hunter Pleasure World Championship with
27 showing back. Nicole and Baby masterfully
worked the ring, so much so that they made the
cut for the 10-horse workout that followed the
original class. After another exhausting
workout, they were named 5th in the world. They
were also pinned 8th in the Ladies Amateur
Hunter Pleasure World Championship. “Baby” and
Nicole both proudly belong to Bruce and Susan
Peterson of Roscoe , IL .

Merriehill Destiny Bay (video)
- (Online X PKM Noblette) “Mighty Mouse” is his
competitive nickname, and winning is his game.
This year he was Team Merriehilled with newcomer
Sarah Shapiro. They debuted in winning style at
the Jubilee Regional in the Junior Exhibitor
Classic Pleasure Saddle before taking on the
Oklahoma City arena. In their second time
showing together, Sarah and “Dusty” captured the
win in the 14-15 Grand National Champion Classic
Pleasure Saddle class. Not bad for their first
trip the World Championships together, and
incredible for Sarah’s second show out of the
academy circuit.
Owner Cristy Rafn under the tutelage of trainer Whitney
Bodnar worked hard to perfect her driving skills
over the past year, and in her very first Grand
National showing did herself and “Dusty” proud
by placing 4th in the GN Classic Pleasure
Driving Masters under 15.1, and 5th in WC
Classic Pleasure Driving Masters. Look for these
fierce competitors next year.

Bred To Boogie (TVM I Promise
X J’st Coastn Countess) At the start of his
career a s a classic horse, “Al” accumulated many
wins in a short amount of time. Having only
shown in the Classic Div-ision at one show prior
to OKC, “Al” showed that this is his division.
He was named the Grand National Three Years and
Under Classic Pleasure Driving Champion. But he
didn’t stop there; he went on to win the
Futurity Three-Year-Old Classic Pleasure Driving
World Championship. Paul Brisco did an excellent
job of stepping in and driving for the extremely
proud owners Epona Morgans, LLC, of Minnetonka ,
MN .

Cingate Lucky Star (Astronomicallee
X Flirtatious Me) “Rocco” is no stranger to the OKC
winners circle. He has made three trips to the Morgan
Horse World Championships, and has come home every time
a World Champion. To add to his already impressive
accomplishments, he was named 2007 Three-Year-Old
Gelding In- Hand World Champion. He was led by Whitney
Bodnar, another entry for the Cingate Morgans, LLC, of
Montgomery , AL . |

X Cingate Vincent’s Song) “Frazier” is following
in his mother’s footsteps. At the young age of
two, he won the Grand National Two-Year-Old
Pleasure Driving Stallions class and went on to

second trip to OKC, Greg Fancsali and Team
Merriehillmate “Chong” accomplished a lot. In
the deep GN Classic Pleasure Driving

7 years now. They have had wins in the park

Epona’s Walk The Line
(What’s My Line X Cingate Sugar Magnolia) “Cash”
is the first foal from the Epona Morgans’
breeding program to travel to Oklahoma . The
yearling stallion in-hand classes at the world
championship show are always very large and this
year was no exception. Holding his own in very
deep competition, “Cash” was 5th in the Grand
National Yearling Stallions class and 6th in the
World Champion Futurity Yearling Stallion class.
He was led by Whitney Bodnar and is proudly
owned by Epona Morgans, LLC, of Minnetonka , MN
.
Fox Hollow Talk About Me
(Whispering Whammunition X Cyderbay Chantilly)
Wherever “Toby” goes, people talk about him. OKC
was no exception. Following his victory at
Jubilee in the hotly contested UPHA Pleasure
Driving Championship, “Toby” and his trainer
Whitney zoomed in and wowed the crowd. In a very
nice Three-Year-Old Pleasure Driving World
Championship, “Toby” secured a 4th place.
Although he wasn’t named the World Champion, the
number of people that followed him back to
compliment this up-and-comer were more than
enough to make him feel as though he had in fact
won. Toby is owned by the Redwood Partners, LLC
of San Diego, CA.
FRF Exodus (Centerpiece X
Wild Eyed Innocence) This stallion is no novice
to the OKC arena, but this year marked a first
for “Gus.” It was his debut in OKC under saddle.
Expertly ridden by Stan Bodnar, they claimed a
3rd in the Grand National English Pleasure
Stallions, and a 7th in the Open English
Pleasure World Championship. Exodus is proudly
owned by Constance Locher of Fairfield , CA .
HVK Noble Fashion (HVK Noble Flaire X HVK Radiant Field). Although quite
green to the show arena, “Paige” made the trek
to OKC. She proved that although she had only
been to one other show, she was not intimidated
by this large show or the more experienced show
horses. In a field of beautiful Three-Year-Old
hunter mares, Paige was placed 6th. Watch out
for her next year, she will be all the more
ready to take on the winner’s circle. Paige is
owned by Herbert V Kohler of Kohler , WI and
ridden by Jessica Cavanaugh.
LLL Trotsky (Merriehill
Chicagoan X Merriehill My Maria). Over this past
show season, “TR” has made name for himself. He
proved that he has earned this recognition by
placing 6th in the Grand National Four-Year-Old
Hunter Pleasure Stallions and Geldings. He also
showed against older, more established hunters
in the Open Hunter Pleasure 15.1 hands and over
Grand National class, placing 10thout of 19.

He didn’t stop there—he then
went on to place 4th in the large Grand National
Gentlemen’s Hunter Pleasure Finals with Earl
McFall, of Dragonfire Farm, taking the reins. He
finished his junior years being placed 4th in
the World Four-Year-Old Hunter Pleasure
Championship. By the end of the show, “TR” had
secured himself a place in Emma Thomson’s heart
as well as her home. He was purchased by Pam
Thomson for Emma and went home to Virginia with
them. His breeder and former owners, Boris and
Emelia Tabakoff of Elizabeth , IL are very
pleased. He was shown by Jessica Cavanaugh.

MEM La Vida Loca (Futurity
French Command X AFF Tailored to Taste) New
owner Beth Fancsali could not be happier.
Although she and “Ricky” did not capture a world
title, they were consistently in the top five in
their Amateur and Amateur Ladies English
Pleasure classes. Not bad for their second show
in the short month the pair has been together.
The future is bright for these shining stars. Be
afraid fellow competitors, this Team Merriehill
is going to be hard to beat next year.

drove “Line” to win the Grand National Pleasure
Driving Under 15.1 hands division. In 2007, Stan

tough Grand National Pleasure Driving Geldings
